The D3A2 underwent another modification, which was a redesigned canopy profile. The new glazing had an elongated rear section that blended neatly into the rear fuselage, making it even longer than the “greenhouse” canopy of the D3A1. However, the rear section was frequently removed during use, making the canopy an unreliable feature for recognizing the D3A2.
