B-29 Enola Gay 1945

Martin-built Enola Gay was the specially equipped and unarmed B-29 that dropped the atom bomb ‘Little Boy’ on Hiroshima on 6 August 1945. The name was that of the mother of the pilot, Col Paul W. Tibbets, of the 509th Composite Group.
