He 100 was a pre-World War II fighter aircraft design from Heinkel. Although it proved to be the fastest fighter in the world at the time, the design was not ordered into production, due largely to the Luftwaffe concentrating on the Messerschmitt Bf 109 along with a serious shortage of engines making production of two similar aircraft out of the question.
